Aaron Reddin on

life, liberty and the pursuit of Jesusness

Quick Bio

aaron1Well this is me.  Straight to the point, and simplified.

I’m a simple guy who grew up too fast, yet couldn’t keep up.  Drug user at 13.  Drug addict at 15.  Wow, I know.  Ended up at 20 living out of my car and unable to kick a really nasty meth addiction.

I sought God for some hard core deliverance from this addiction because if He didn’t do it, I was definately going to die.  He did it.

You may believe that God is hibernating and that miracles only happened in “those days”, but let me just go ahead and correct you.  God is not dead.  Nor is His power and love.

So I said I would make this simple; I guess I better.

Ok, here I am today with over 7 years clean.  I am not, and will not ever be an addict again.  I’m not one of those people who sits around “in recovery” all their life.  When God took it, he destroyed it (1 John 3:8)

Presently I serve as the Director of Men’s Ministries for the Union Rescue Mission in Little Rock, AR.  I get to oversee a long-term drug/alcohol program, a transitional working program, and a homeless shelter.  Yes, they are all very interesting and challenging.

I also write, blog, teach, speak, and sleep.    I’m now doing some other work in the field of drug/alcohol abuse prevention.  I should soon have my certification as a Prevention Specialist.

I take every chance possible to speak to youth groups, schools, and churches about topics such as awareness, consequences, and obviously Jesus.

  4. I must say that you have really inspired me! I have known you for a long time. I remember when you crashed at our appartment and you were so addicted to drugs. I’m so proud of you that you changed your life around! I wish you could convince my brother in law to do the same. He is locked up in jail now for stealing to feed his habit as well. I pray for him all the time! Keep up the good work and I will keep reading to stay inspired to work in my church as well.
